Just Breathe
Yes I understand that every life must end, aw huh
As we sit alone, I know someday we must go, aw huh
I’m a lucky man to count on both hands
The ones I love
Some folks just have one,
Others they got none, aw huh
Stay with me
Let’s just breathe.
Practiced are my sins,
Never gonna let me win, aw huh
Under everything, just another human being, aw huh
Yeah, I don’t wanna hurt, there’s so much in this world
To make me bleed.
Stay with me
You’re all I see.
Did I say that I need you?
Did I say that I want you?
Oh, if I didn’t I’m a fool you see
No one knows this more than me
As I come clean
I wonder everyday
as I look upon your face, aw huh
Everything you gave
And nothing you would take, aw huh
Nothing you would take
Everything you gave
Did I say that I need you?
Oh, Did I say that I want you?
Oh, if I didn’t I’m a fool you see
No one know this more than me.
As I come clean
Nothing you would take, everything you gave.
Hold me till I die
Meet you on the other side
As we sit alone, I know someday we must go, aw huh
I’m a lucky man to count on both hands
The ones I love
Some folks just have one,
Others they got none, aw huh
Stay with me
Let’s just breathe.
Practiced are my sins,
Never gonna let me win, aw huh
Under everything, just another human being, aw huh
Yeah, I don’t wanna hurt, there’s so much in this world
To make me bleed.
Stay with me
You’re all I see.
Did I say that I need you?
Did I say that I want you?
Oh, if I didn’t I’m a fool you see
No one knows this more than me
As I come clean
I wonder everyday
as I look upon your face, aw huh
Everything you gave
And nothing you would take, aw huh
Nothing you would take
Everything you gave
Did I say that I need you?
Oh, Did I say that I want you?
Oh, if I didn’t I’m a fool you see
No one know this more than me.
As I come clean
Nothing you would take, everything you gave.
Hold me till I die
Meet you on the other side
~INTERMISSION~
The above lyrics are to a song called ‘Just Breathe’. The only reason I am not blogging a rant or my thoughts on some crazy topic today is because 1) it’s Friday and I’ve opted to make Friday blogs stand out and 2) Last week when I mentioned that Pearl Jam are my favourite band and someone retorted with ‘Are they still around?’ I was mildly frazzled, in short, yes; they are alive and well and still tour more than any other band on the planet. Not bad for a bunch of gentlemen who celebrated their 20 years in the music industry last year. Watch out Rolling Stones, I think Pearl Jam are the only contenders to dethrone your accolades for longevity. They should crack the 50 year mark with ease.
Thirdly, this song holds special meaning for me. The words are poetic, moving and poignant. Given just the right situation and mood, it can definitely make my eyes teary.
What song brings out emotions in you? Be it happy or sad, angry or calm. I have an ironic song that makes me feel calm ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ by Foster the People (read the lyrics if you can’t see the irony).
Also, before I leave you with some music for the weekend, be sure to follow me on Twitter @ThatChrisMorris I’m tending to tweet more than I Facebook these days.
Without any further ado, let’s all start our weekend with a little sexy soul music, this is for all the lovers out there. Enjoy your weekend.
Until next time,
-Chris

| Oliver says 'SO, WHO DID LET THE DOGS OUT?' |

How very lyrical of you! Seem like you're a loyal fan.
ReplyDeleteThe first song I think of regarding a song that makes me emotional, is 'Someone like you' by Adele. Not only do the lyrics make me emotional but they way she sings it too. It really hits home.
I like your blogs any day, doesn't matter what day it is :)
BTW Oliver - the Baha men let the dogs out..
